Restoring blog…
Hey everyone,
Sorry about the downtime. I’m still working on getting the blog back up in running order. Thanks!
Hey everyone,
Sorry about the downtime. I’m still working on getting the blog back up in running order. Thanks!
I often get emails asking whether I know of a good flash card program for Windows, and I never have a good answer to give. All of the ones that I have seen are either 1) way too complicated, 2) the interface is horribly bad, or 3) both!
Does anyone know of some good Windows flash card programs out there? I’m having a hard time finding one to recommend. (And, if you happen to make one for Windows, please email me!)
Thanks!

Update: The built-in updater now works again. Thanks for your patience!
Just a quick note. If you try updating through the iFlash updater (by clicking the iFlash menu and selecting “Check for New Version”), iFlash will report that it can’t reach the Loopware servers. Until I fix this problem, you can download/update iFlash by visiting the following link:

Thanks!

I know that many others on the web would like to see some version of Adobe’s Flash on the iPhone, but I really can’t begin to understand why! Flash on the Mac is slow and buggy, and is used mostly for two things: YouTube and advertisements. On the phone, YouTube is already covered by a very slick (and native!) movie player, and who really wants ads on their phone?
Apple, if you’re listening, don’t add Flash to the iPhone!
Just a random thought. ![]()
I’ll be attending Apple’s World Wide Developer’s Conference (WWDC) when it begins on June 9th. Last year’s WWDC was an incredible experience, so I can only hope that this one will be even better! And yes, they have lots of iPhone development sessions :-).
Attending WWDC this year? Not attending? Just want to talk? Leave a comment!
It’s been a while since I’ve posted an entry here, and I thought I should update everyone on how things are going.
I’m working on iFlash and iFlash Touch whenever I have free time (reminder: I’m a full-time student at UMass Amherst). Because I want to share as much code as possible between the two versions, I’ve been focusing more attention on iFlash for the Mac than on Touch lately, but that should change soon :-).
I’ll post updates once I’ve made some more progress. Thanks to everyone for your helpful comments!

I’ve just released the iFlash 2.7.5 update! I’ve added lots of good stuff, including support for printing images that are attached to card sides. You can find out more about what changed by visiting the following link:
http://www.loopware.com/iflash/release.php
If you already have iFlash, click the iFlash menu and select “Check for New Version.” You’ll be prompted about 2.7.5 and given the chance to install. If you don’t already have iFlash, you can find out more and download it here.
Enjoy!

I’ve had a look at the iPhone/iPod touch developer’s kit, and it is easily the best mobile programming platform ever created. Apple managed to cram all the stuff that makes developing for the Mac such a joy into an incredible mobile package.
So, with that, I would like to announce that I’m beginning the development of a new iPhone app: iFlash Touch. Right now iFlash Touch is little more than scribbles on a whiteboard, but over the next few months it will grow to become a (hopefully) must-have app for any iFlash user.
Naturally I’ll post updates on the development progress via this blog. And, depending on how strict Apple is with distribution, I will hopefully be able to offer some type of public beta for everyone to try out before the official release.
But first I’d like to get your feedback. What do you want to see in iFlash Touch? Please leave comments in this blog entry. Thanks!

Apple today announced the immediate availability of the iPhone developer’s kit! I’m currently downloading the SDK (software development kit) as I type this entry, and I’ll be able to provide some more insight into what this means for iFlash on the iPhone (and iPod touch) once I’ve toyed around with it a bit more.
I’ll post updates on the blog later. Stay tuned :-).

I’ve been working hard recently on an upcoming update for iFlash, 2.7.5, and the list of fixes is growing larger every day. Here’s the list of changes so far (with more to come):
Whoa! With the amount of new features going into the update, I’m thinking that I may want to do a public beta before release. Stay tuned… ![]()
